Successfully complete an approved sales pre-license real estate course of at least 60 hours (course is valid for licensure for 12 months from the course completion date). |

Pass the end of course school exam with a grade of least 70%. Students will have 2 attempts at the school exam. Failure of both exams will result in the student retaking the course. |

After successfully passing the state exam you will receive a license application which will contain your score report. The application along with the school certificate of completion, proof of residency, proof of high school diploma/GED/or higher education and the appropriate fees should be mailed to the Alabama Real Estate Commission, within 90 days of the date you passed the examination. You will be issued a temporary license and must meet the Post Licensing Requirement to obtain an original (permanent) license. |

Successfully complete an approved post-license real estate course of at least 30 hours within the first six months of licensure for active temporary licensees and within one year for inactive temporary licensees. |

Pass the end of course exam with a grade of least 70%. Students will have 2 attempts at the school exam. If the student fails the exam the first time they must wait at least 30 days (but not more than a year) to retake the exam. Failure to pass the exam the 2nd time will result in the student retaking the course. |

All Brokers and Sales Associates are required to complete 15 hours of approved course work every 2 year renewal period. The 15 hours should be made up of at least 3 hours of a Risk Management course and 12 hours of approved elective courses. Active licensees must file active and inactive renewal forms and fees with the commission on or before August 31th of the even years. Active licensees must complete the 15 hours CE requirement on or before September 30th of the even years. |
